As we move into the Florida Spring here on the beaches, it is becoming more and more important to ensure your pool’s chemicals are properly balanced and the pool is circulating for the right length of time. Circulation is one of the top topics of question I get as a pool service company owner.
“How long do I need to circulate my pool?”
I always respond to this by saying, Ideally you want your pool to run 24 hours a day at a lower speed. This would reduce your likelihood for algae and also reduce your monthly chemical costs. However running your pump all day is just not economical for your budget. So what do you do…. The real answer to this question involves a complex mathematical equation involving your equipment, piping, water volume, etc.. But, most people will benefit from running their pool between 6-8 hours a day this time of year.
